By establishing the Heinz School in Adelaide, Carnegie Mellon has become the first foreign university to offer degree programs on Australian soil. The Heinz School selected Adelaide as its Asia Pacific education base because the South Australian capital provides an affordable, dynamic, diverse and culturally rich environment in which to live and study.
